DISCOVER OUR SLOVAKIA TOURS AND TRAVEL GUIDE

Visit scenic Donovaly, Oravský Hrad Castle, drive through the Low Tatra Mountains, and more.

Castles, caves, and comfort cuisine aren’t the first Slovakia attractions that come to mind, which is exactly why this landlocked country in Central Europe deserves days of exploration. Our Slovakia guided tours help you write the first chapter of your journey, taking you from the riverside capital to stunning castles atop the riverfront.

Visit Slovakia and tour its capital city of Bratislava alongside local experts. Arrive when snow begins to fall and wander Bratislava’s whimsical old town during a guided Christmas market food tour. Should your trip to Slovakia be during warmer months, you’ll enjoy the leisure time spent wandering beside the beautiful Danube River.

Give your eyes a break from gazing at Bratislava Castle and venture into the mountains where you’ll find the Orava Castle, partially built in the 13th century as part of the Hungarian Kingdom. With top-rated meals on the itinerary, our Bratislava tours are a feast for the senses.

What to Eat in Slovakia

Premium Dining on Every Tour

Slovakia cuisine is often hearty, heavy, and humble. Potatoes and cabbage fill up a plate just as quickly as the roasted meats in the soups and stews will fill up your stomach. Bring an appetite and leave room for pivo.

Bryndzové halušky is Slovakia’s national dish and a perfect introduction to Slovakia cuisine. The gnocchi-like halušky dumplings and tangy bryndza sheep’s milk cheese is a hearty welcome to Slovakia.

You’ll find the pork blood sausage, krvavničky, on restaurant menus and at street food stalls. Often sold alongside jaternice sausages mixed with rice, krvavničky is a must-try.

Although it’s one of the popular Slovakia dishes for Christmas, there’s no bad time to try a warm bowl of kapustnica. This hearty sauerkraut soup includes smoked ham and sausage.

Did You Know?

Bratislava was once a Hungarian and Celt capital.

Visit Slovakia and you’re almost guaranteed to at least pass through the capital city of Bratislava. Bordering both Austria and Hungary, Bratislava has a long history of being a capital city, even before Slovakia was a country. Historical records show that Bratislava was the capital of the Hungarian Kingdom from 1526 to 1784. Archaeological evidence also discovered that the area was also once the Celt capital, Carnuntum, starting around the 1st Century.
