DISCOVER OUR LEICHTENSTEIN TOURS AND TRAVEL GUIDE

Visit Europe's fourth smallest country, the principality of Liechtenstein, Vaduz Castle and more.

Although the area within the borders of Leichtenstein is smaller than many cities, Europe’s fourth-smallest country has a surprising amount to offer. You’ll enjoy every moment of your journey on our Lichtenstein guided tours.

The Principality of Liechtenstein invites you to see where the House of Leichtenstein has resided for centuries: Vaduz Castle. This regal residence overlooks its namesake capital and is surrounded by the snow-capped Alps. Visit during summer and you’ll see the sun shine on the Old Rhine Bridge and Cathedral of St. Florin; visit this winter wonderland during the holidays and watch as festive decorations light up the streets.

Although Liechtenstein has fewer than 100 restaurants, this country takes its meals very seriously. Take advantage of included breakfasts and dinners to taste Liechtenstein dishes. Influenced by Austrian, German, and Swiss dishes, Liechtenstein food is warm, hearty, welcomingly familiar. See and savor a trip to Liechtenstein on our guided tours.

What to Eat in Liechtenstein

Premium Dining on Every Tour

Between Austria and Switzerland, Liechtenstein cuisine is quite similar to its neighbors. You’ll find cheese, potatoes, and meat prevalent in dishes like geschnetzelte and schnitzel. Be sure to try local favourites like torkarebl porridge and dreikönigskuchen king cake.

Corn and wheat is simple enough on their own, but combined, they create ribel. Ribel is a traditional Liechtenstein food enjoyed with fruit puree or dipped in a milky beverage.

If you’re coming from Germany, you’ll recognize the Liechtenstein cuisine käsknöpfle as the German käsespätzle: a plate of dumplings or noodles mixed with cheese and fried onions.

Of the many Liechtenstein dishes you should try on even a small visit, hafalaab should rank high on your list. This brothy soup is filled with dumplings and smoked meat.

Learn More About Liechtenstein

Did You Know?

Liechtenstein has no army.

The micronation of Liechtenstein, one of the smallest countries on the planet, is the only country located completely within the Alps. It’s bordered by Austria and Switzerland, which are also landlocked countries, making Liechtenstein one of two double-landlocked countries in the world. Despite its vulnerable position, and the fact that the country is too small to have an airport, Liechtenstein has no active military. This small country takes a position of neutrality.
