DISCOVER OUR MONTENEGRO TOURS AND TRAVEL GUIDE

Visit Kotor Old City, Piazza of the Arms, Altstadt in Budva, Statua Ballerina and more.

Though only an official independent country since 2006, Montenegro’s history and homegrown culture extends back before the Ottoman Empire. Our Montenegro guided tours take you into the medieval past within its borders and showcase how the architecture, cuisine, and customs of yesterday are still thriving today.

Kotor’s bayside Old Town, called the Stari Grad, is a picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site surrounded by a medieval fortress wall. Wander through the enclosed city, gazing at the Lovcen mountains in the distance while gazing at Kampana Tower.

But Kotor is far from the only Montenegro gem along the Adriatic sea. Take a journey to Budva, another gorgeous medieval old town, and appreciate the amazing 9th century architecture of the Church of Santa Maria in Punta.

As you discover the beauty of this Balkan country, you’ll have a chance to sample Montenegro food as you wander the medieval streets. Premium dining experiences and visits to other dazzling Adriatic countries await on our Montenegro 'Business Class' tours.

What to Eat in Montenegro

Premium Dining on Every Tour

Drawing ingredients from the mountains, the bay, and village farms, Montenegro cuisine is a delicious mix of hearty comfort foods like the spiced meat cevapi patties and mouth watering seafood dishes like the black ink risotto filled with squid.

Take advantage of bayside dining and order buzara. This Montenegro food is a stewy seafood dish cooked in a red or white sauce with shrimp, crabs, squid, or prawns.

The village of Njeguši brings two Montenegro dishes to the table: Njeguši prosciutto, a slow-cooked dried ham, and Njeguši steak, a breaded and fried pork or veal schnitzel.

If you have limited time to try Montenegro cuisine on tour, grab burek on the go. This bakery staple is a cheese or meat filled pastry baked like a spiral.
