DISCOVER OUR EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN TOURS AND TRAVEL GUIDE

The Eastern Mediterranean is much more than the Greek Islands. We invite you to explore other lesser-visited ancient world wonders like Slovenia’s Postojna Caves and tour Sarajevo’s Tunnel of Hope with a Bosnian war survivor. Our Eastern Mediterranean guided tours welcome you to experience a different side of Europe.

But not without also checking off historic sights in iconic cities like the Acropolis in Athens, Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, and ancient city walls of Dubrovnik.

Witness Greek history with guided tours of Meteora and the Olympia archaeological site — the original site of the Olympic Games. See Slovenia’s enchanting Lake Bled and the natural splendors of Plitvice National Park. Hop around the Greek Islands, learning about the geology of Santorini and tasting local delicacies in Mykonos. Take a private tour of Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace and Mostar’s rebuilt Stari Most bridge.

Delicious, top-rated dining, inspiring conversation, and awe-inspiring historical sites await on our Eastern Mediterranean tours.

What to Eat in the Eastern Mediterranean

Premium Dining on Every Tour

Eastern Mediterranean countries are in the envious position where Mediterranean and Balkan cuisine collide. Baklava is one dessert you won't forget. Before this sticky, nutty pastry, try fresh sea bass or trout, lentil soups, and pide bread.

A Slovenian sweet treat, the custard and cream puff pastry kremna rezina is delectable. It’s a cafe staple, but best enjoyed beside the waters of Lake Bled.

You can’t go wrong with octopus salad, a longtime favourite of Eastern Mediterranean countries. You’ll almost certainly find it in Dubrovnik, Nafplio, and on an optional day trip to Kotor.

You’ll find dolma from the sandy beaches of Croatia and Greece to central Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey. These stuffed grape leaves may have rice, vegetables, mincemeat, and more.

Did You Know?

Truffle hunting extends to Eastern Mediterranean countries.

Italy and France make headlines with their billion-dollar truffle industries, but some Eastern Mediterranean countries also have these treasures in their dirt. The largest white truffle ever found (at the time, in 1999) was unearthed in Croatia. Summer truffles also grow in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Slovenia’s Istra peninsula is a popular place for truffle hunting outside of Italy and France. Ancient Greeks used to hunt for truffles, while modern-day Turkey is cultivating truffle growth.
